Default Land Rover 4.6L Engine Secondary Air Injection - Reconditioned

Hi,

We recently discovered that we have a surplus of core parts and core engines in the back of our shop, and if the demand is there, we will continue to build more of these babies.
We have replaced all the seals, as well surfaced the heads, and cleaned them out completely and properly. As well it has new cam/main/rod bearings. Everything was set back to factory standards, and assembled here on spot at our facility.

A reconditioned 4.6 engine that is OEM for the following model Land Rover;

1999-2002 Discovery II 4.6 with air injection
1999-2002 Range Rover 4.6 with air injection.

We have or can recondition 3.9 & 4.0 engines as well, both with and without air injection.

NEW PARTS:
Cam, Rod & Main Bearings. All new gaskets.

USED PARTS:
We dismantle a large number of Land Rover engines and after a complete tear down, cleaning and close inspection we choose the best parts for reassembly.

RECONDITIONED:
cylinder heads - valve job & resurface.

Includes oil pan, valve covers and front cover assembled correctly. We do an oil pressure test by priming the oil pump.

We are asking $1800 shipped anywhere in the U.S.
Residential delivery will include a residential delivery fee, and you will be required to have a way of unloading the engine itself from the freight truck.

Contact me on here, or give me a call at (916)858-0000, ask for Slavi or Justin!

Can you build blocks with top hat liners?

Yeah we can have it done, but it will be another $1000 on top of that since we would have to take it to a machine shop to have the holes drilled.
And we also would need to find out how much the sleeves would cost, so that would be another expense on top of everything.
Let me know if you're interested.

What checks are being done on the blocks? For example are the bores being checks, are they checked for cracks? I also don't see any mention of new rings being installed or lifters?

Everything is inspected as the engine is being assembled.
We dismantle a lot of Land Rovers, take the best condition and working parts for the engines. The rings & lifters on this reconditioned engine are OEM from stock blocks.

So no block work other than visual inspection, used lifters on a new cam, and used rings?

The whole block gets sent in and is thoroughly cleaned by Mothers Machine Shop and re surfaced.

As for the lifters, if they are in good shape (Mind you we wouldn't bother putting bad parts on a good engine and waste our time or customers) they will be reused and installed. So yes we use good used parts on the engines.

We do offer to send it in at an additional cost if someone is weary about using used lifters... Although the whole point to offering these engines are so someone can buy a reliable good RUNNING engine vs taking a gamble on a used one... All for the same cost.

We stand behind our engines as well and include a 90 day warranty. I've installed two in my personal cars with no issues.

For the price they pretty much only need to run in my book. They should go for 50,000 miles anyway. Definitely a great alternative for someone who has an ok truck but has overheated and wasted their engine and doesn't want to shell out $5k+ for a new motor.

it does look like a viable option to just throwing a boneyard engine in, I would spring for new lifters. what kind of price on a bare top hatted block?

looks like 15-16 for hatting it (your labor price + highest liner cost). so that is in the 3300-3400 range for it shipped. sound right? that is a great option, since the cracked/crap block possibility is removed. gets you back on the road at a fair price.

but I too am interested in a bare option price, or if that is something you'd consider.
