Possibly selling my D1... Miami Area...
I have a 1995 Land Rover Discovery I - with
149k miles
new front tires
barely used suspension upgrade kit ( 3" lift, spring and nitro charger shock kit from Australia)
performance rotors (slotted and cross-drilled)
with stainless steel brake lines
new water pump
new power steering pump
new fuel pump
new radiator
- for sale - due to economic hardship.
The vehicle does need work - and currently is not running.
My original intent was to fix the truck after I saved more cash, but when my 2nd car broke down, I realized that one working car, is better than two broken cars.
The truck is sold-as-is - and I'm asking $2500 or best offer. The parts i have personally replaced since owning the car (I have ALL receipts for ALL parts and ALL work - total over $7k, and the suspension and brakes alone are, if parted out, worth the value of what I'm asking for this truck).
I'm near the truck most days as it is at my work, so I can easily show the vehicle.
Truck is red, with black accents.
I *might* be willing to part it out if I don't get enough interest...

driver's side head got warped.
the water pump had gone out, I had that fixed, and within a week and a half after I had the water pump replaced, the driver's head went (sounds like a choo-choo train basically).
I had a mechanic look at it and he explained that was the problem.
I had the passenger head redone about a year prior, but it was way too pricey for me to fix the driver's as the passenger cost me some big bucks to redo, labor and all.
I have found a machine shop near me that will redo the heads for a much better price than I paid last time, but there's still labor and installation of the heads to consider after that.

For those interested in the exact kit I have on there, here's some more details...
the truck drives like a laser guided missle... glued to exactly where you point it, and the ride and handling couldn't be more enjoyable (when it drives at all, that is)
Here's the exact kit I had put in there (all these parts I bought from Atlantic British)
the EBC 6000 series pads front and read (part #s STC9188EBC, and STC9191EBC)
Stainless hose kit for raised trucks - ABP214L
ARB Spring Shock Kit Heavy Dty front and rear - 9393HD
Polybush Set 2 Blue/Full - 9783
Steering Ball joint Kit - 9375D
Driveshaft Rubber Coupling Genuine (guibo in the BMW world) - TVF100010G
Shock Tower Kit Coil - NRC6372K
Bump Stop Front 87/97 coil - 575707
All Ball joint Tie Rods
Steering Damper ARB OME (RC/DISCO) - 9387
Shock Mount Kit rear upper - NRC7981
Spring Retainer Front/Rear - NTC6106
Wheel Bearing Rebuild Kit DISCO 1 - (fronts) - 9002D
Brake Rebuild Kit Frt/REAR DISCO 1 - 9985EBC
Brake Rotor Front non Vented-pair - (cross-drilled and slotted) - FRC7329EBC
Broke Rotor Pair -Rear - FTC1381EBC
that is JUST what I put into brakes and suspension...
as mentioned before, I also replaced:
radiator
starter motor
one of the brake calipers
power steering pump
water pump
fuel pump
passenger side head
oooooooo man... just reading through this list, I have to admit... I can't believe its come to this, as again, my plan was - once invested so heavily into this truck to get "Big Red" back on the road, and enjoy the fruits of my money put into him...
but - it is what it is at this point for me...

hey man... I'm sorry you're in my boat now...
I hate to say this, but the truck needs to go today....
I'm dropping the asking price down to $1400 OR Best Offer...

For those who may be wondering what your non-running D1 is worth, regardless of your upgrades if you DONT part it out...
I had the scrap yard come here in Miami and got $450 CASH for it TODAY...
I watched them load it on the flat bed, and drive off down the road...
not a great day, but... for those who were wondering, I would have taken, literally, any offer higher than $450...
someone at that scrap yard is going to strike gold when they get that suspension and rotors off there...
[sigh]...
