Default For Sale - '01 Range Rover 4.6, Portland, ME $4500

I have found myself with one Land Rover too many! I bought this truck in San Antonio 3.5 years ago from a fellow enthusiast who was also "thinning the herd". So only a couple Maine winters, still very, very nice underneath. Unfortunately, has the typical clearcoat failure on the roof, mirrors, and hood, but it's a good looking truck from 10'. Oxford Blue on Light Stone. 150K, I've put about 25K on in the 3.5 years. Runs and drives nicely. Comes with a 2nd set of matching 16" wheels with snow tires. I'd like to get $4500 for it. Basically a well sorted honest slightly scruffy truck that is about as reliable as a 15yo Range Rover is going to be.

It's technically an HSE, but the NAV system and the 18" wheels are long gone. The center console with the NAV screen was replaced by the one with the storage bin, with some aftermarket matched wood strips to make it all blend in nicely. Has the Harmon/Karden speaker system with a rebuilt subwoofer and a Nakamichi CD/MP3/BT head unit that sounds fantastic.

Interior is quite nice, everything works except the passenger side seat heat. Headliner has been nicely replaced. All seat functions work correctly, even the lumbar support and headrests. Has had nearly all of the usual issues addressed in the past 4-5 years:
New radiator, expansion tank, waterpump, most of the hoses in the past four years. I have a new thermostat just because but haven't put it in. Air suspension works well, will stay up for a week or so. Had new rear air springs just before I bought it, I have new front air springs that I will fit before it leaves - just never got around to it - pretty sure that will fix what leak there is currently. I have a couple complete suspension and valve block O-ring kits I ordered from the UK that go with it, and the cable and software to access the EAS computer (never needed it). Has had a new compressor. No issues with the ABS/Traction control, the "Three Amigos" behave themselves per the book. Rotors and pads have plenty of life left. Both front door window regulators and the drivers door switch have been replaced. Heater O-rings and blend motors replaced, and I have a couple brand new spares to boot, so the HVAC works properly - A/C is cold, heat is hot. New underhood fuse panel two years ago. Alternator just before I bought it. New exhaust system when I bought it, had louder aftermarket mufflers then! Crank sensor a couple years ago. Replaced the steering tie bar last year for inspection. NO Christmas tree lights on the dash, and yes, they all work! New HUGE NAPA commercial battery, and battery cable ends replaced last summer. I have two keys with remotes. I'm probably forgetting a bunch of small stuff.

Issues I know about - it marks it's territory a little, could use valve cover gaskets. Maybe a quarter size spot or two if it sits in the garage a couple weeks. Throws a CEL every so often for "Gross Evap leak". Pretty sure it's aux air pump - did it constantly when I first got it, tossed a used pump on and it went away for two years, just starting to do it again once in a while. I just clear the CEL and live with it. When it is brutally cold (<10F), the torque converter lockup won't work until the transmission warms up - not sure if this is a bug or a feature though - had Volvos with this transmission that did the exact same thing. Above 10F, doesn't do it. Otherwise, transmission shifts great. The grill is cracked and patched in several places, but like the paint, looks OK from 10' away. A couple lines are out in the HVAC temp display, but otherwise all the interior and dash lights work.

To sweeten the deal, if you are "from away" as we say up here in Maine, I will get you a one way plane ticket on American to come and pick it up. I travel for a living, I have frequent flyer miles out the wazoo. I drove home from San Antonio in it sight unseen (did have a friend check it out for me)and had zero issues, I am pretty confident it would be perfectly happy to drive right back down there again. Delivery could probably be negotiated within a days drive.

One note - technically, the registration expired the end of October, and given it is about $350 to register it again in Maine I don't really want to. But if you have an insurance card, I can get you a Maine temp one-way plate to get it home. I've been meaning to post it for sale long before this, but work travels have kept me away too much. Finally home for a couple weeks to deal with it. Inspection is good to February.

Give me a shout if interested, I have plenty of pictures to send or post and am happy to take more.
