Subject: 2003 discovery blank ext. light tan interior 103k miles salvage title

I have no affiliation with this seller or the truck. I saw this on Craigslist and checked it out. I am passing on it. Somebody may be interested. The seller is pretty motivated to get rid of it. He is leaving the country for a year and doesn't need it sitting around. It has some issues, but it idles nicely and there is no ticking! Engine, other than is noted below is pretty clean, a few drops on the bottom of the transfer case, I didn't crawl too far under to check every nook and cranny.

It is throwing a few codes and leaking what looks like coolant from the driver's side valve cover gasket. The rest of the engine, particularly the passenger side, is unusually clean. I was actually pretty surprised how good the engine and engine bay looked, apart from the driver's side valve cover area, and even that wasn't that bad, it just concerned me that I could see coolant residue. That said, it could have been weeping from the throttle body heater gasket, there was some residue that indicated a leak from that gasket.

Codes p0171 p0300 p0303. p0305. p1171 p0159 and p0130.

Needs a new rear bumper, damage to rear left corner, taped with duct tape, lights in good shape, windshield bottom trim is cracked but in place and sides trim pieces are not secured properly some misc. this and that. The exterior is dirty and has scratches on the back end of the roof that look like it ran through a low garage entry. Edges of the rear sunroof are taped up. The interior is really dirty, not slimey, just dirty, leather needs cleaning and treatment, carpets need cleaning and the whole interior just needs a couple of days of tlc, seats are light tan and really needs a thorough cleaning, the carpets are sandy, looks like they use it for a beach car and it is full of dog hair......headliner is somewhat droopy and a few trim pieces are missing. Glass is all good, front bumper and lights are good. Tires are okay, although I am not a fan of the chrome rims.

I am going to pass, probably a good deal for somebody. Seller is asking $4000, I think that is too much for the truck given the salvage title. to me it is worth about $2500, but $3000 would not be out of the question. The engine alone is almost worth that. Owner just put a rebuilt tranny in it, with 9 months left on the warranty. Also needs an ac recharge, lots of tlc, oh and did I mention a passenger side exhaust leak? Probably from the tranny removal. New o2 sensors all around, ,still sending codes, could be the exhaust leak. No remotes, and a nonfunctioning driver's door lock actuator.

Phil... Your like a recovering alcoholic ....Your free and clear....It sounds like a $1,500.00 full rebuild... So $1,500.00 for him and another $8,500.00 for the truck to get it to a point you can live with yourself..... If i was living in San Diego I'd come over and slap you silly....
