The search has resurfaced for a Discovery I! The last couple of months I have come across some that were almost the one but had some issues I just couldn't look past, ie rust, interior damage, missing parts, etc. I am fully aware that finding a perfect, showroom or near showroom Disco is near impossible but I am looking for one that isn't a project. I plan of off roading and joining the club! Your Disco will be going to a loving Rover home! I can't stress this enough, we are in the market for a serious seller with a stellar Series I Discovery, if it's the right one, we are happy to pay!

Here are some of the things I am looking for and I am very serious about purchasing the right one:
-Disco 1
-Would prefer one in White or a '97 XD but open to all colors
-No rust( Ha, ha, yes I know) Most CA, AZ, NM, etc cars are rust free so it is possible.
-No rips or tears in the interior( Normal wear and tear is fine but I have seen seats that look like a wild animal destroyed them..)
-Would LOVE one with the jump seats (Not a deal breaker though!)
-Mechanically sound or has had work done, no mechanic specials, please!
-Finally, looking in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Colorado. I am located in San Jose, Ca but we have Land Rover friends in those states who could look at the car and inspect before we flew out and purchased it.

 

I know it does not fit all of your criteria but thought i'd shoot it over to you. I was strongly considering but going to stick with the LR3/Hundy search

WOW! That Disco is KITTED out! We might have found a full set of D1 seats at a pick and pull so it might not be a big problem about his driver's seat!

I have a 1996 White, rust free (some surface rust on the rear bumper where paint came off and ...well, it's surface rust. On a rear bumper). Front seat bottoms are torn but I have a set coming to replace them.


The build is...impressive. No issues other than the rear door handle catches sometimes - probably needs to be removed and regreased. The a/c recirculator switch is out (have one coming). However the air works just fine. The rear wiper switch doesn't work well (have one coming - the wiper works fine, comes on with the washer, just not on its own). Impressive stereo with blue tooth, lots of ports and plugs for power. No codes, no issues. Brand new brakes all the way around (to include power booster, MC, and calipers). New radiator and hoses. Cruise control works even.

I'll take $8500. It's in WV. I would drive it cross country, no problems. It has a slight wobble at about 50-55 mph but above and below that it tracks straight and easy.

Only reason I'm selling is I need/want a truck to haul motorcycles with. Got into mx racing recently and hooking up a trailer every time I want to go for an evening ride sucks.
