I’m game. As long as it’s a PUY radio I’ll take my chances. I’ll PM your tomorrow to work out the details.

Thanks.

i will have to double check the label on the unit before i send it, but the rest of the system was highline.

Check the number. The volume **** on the LNF radio would get wonky too, I think it's tied into the speed control thing. Turning the **** down would sometimes increase the volume, do nothing, etc.

mine has the same model number as the picture on the right (xqd101390lnf). it's definitely from a highline truck with rear audio controls -- although i never tested those so who knows, perhaps a previous owner replaced the head unit at some point.

Thanks for checking into this mollusc. My guess is the speed<->volume control thing was on later trucks and the LNF radio, while definitely a from a highline system, may have predated the PUY radios and doesn't support it. Only a guess however.

Still looking for a XQD000340PUY...

confirmed that my radio is a highline unit. although it looks exactly the same from the outside, the oem radio in my newer truck doesn't have the "spatial" setting on the audio tweaking whereas the older one does.
the rave says that the automatic speed-based volume control signal comes from the slabs ecu and is sent to the amplifier, so it may not be the head unit that you need to look for at all.

Aaron: Thanks for the kind words. I have decided on the Alpine Halo 9” head unit so I will be changing soon. I don’t have any attachment to my old head unit and it works perfectly. If that’s something you’d like to make me an offer on, message me your cell and we can work out the details. I tried to reply to your message but it said “user not found” weird.

I don't follow. Are you saying to replace the ECU? The cruise functions normally with the "correct" radio.

Apollon, I'll send another PM. Thanks.
