WTB '02 Disco 2 Rear Dome Light Push Button
I need the little push button on the rear light of a Discovery 2. This is the light that in in the back in front of the rear a/c fan controls. I just bought my 2002 Discovery 2 and love it, just trying to get all the bits that are missing.
TIA,
Bill

here are several choices for you. Stealerships are sky high. There is not always a boneyard nearby. Several guys have made a business out of dismantling Rovers. One is Paul Grant, just search for him on this forum. He has done like 400 - 500 Rovers. His prices are more than fair, and he has no interest in selling junk, he sends that to the crusher. I have bought parts from him and it is cheaper than the gas and my time to go to the boneyard.
Also please enjoy free download of the RAVE, the factory shop manuals, in links below.
If no one has mentioned the front drive shaft, you need to check that it is not the factory original style. They have no grease fittings at the double joint end, and will snap without warning while driving, and then proceed to bash a big hole in the side of the transmission. Upgrade shaft or rebuild per listing in our tech area.
And don't trust your dash heat gauge, it points at 50% from about 130-240F. Use a scanner or Ultra Gauge to see the real coolant temp. 180F Rover (not motorad) thermostat is a nice upgrade.

Buzz,
Thanks for the great info. Someone messaged me and I have the part coming but I appreciate all the good info and advice in your response. I will look into the fixes/mods you mentioned. I used your links to download the appropriate manuals. Thank you for those too.
Cheers,
Bill
