Better than our CDL?
does look like a mini van but what happens when that system breaks or some kind of fuse is blown or a short? you gonna have one tire spinning out of control and not stopping? i mean i want less electronics not more...
I agree........the less electrical crap the better.( except of course for the winch )
Well here is what I can say about that...my work van has traction control and it works 2 ways.
1-it applies the brakes
2-it reduces engine power is braking alone is not enough.
It can be turned off at speeds below 38mph.
It sucks when trying to climb a snow covered driveway, you start to spin your wheels and it slows you down and then you loose all of your momentum and BAM! you are stuck or you need to back down and start over.
If you could have spun your wheels to keep your momentum you could have made it.
It is nice when you turn a corner and the wheels loose traction, it kicks in and keeps you from fish tailing.
I have to say that that video was made to make not having the rock crawl system look like a bad thing, if you are stuck in sand and you are flooring the throttle to try and get unstuck then you dont know what you are doing and you have no business being out there anyway.

X3 on what happens when the system dies. That's why I'm not interested in the Rover TC or HDC. One becomes dependent on those systems and as a result is clueless on how to drive without them.
If you want individual control over wheel spin go for something simple, and a lot cheaper, like cutting brakes.
