Lets just get rid of government all together, I mean who needs roads and safe bridges and fire trucks and police and a army and a airforce and all the other stuff that the government does not need to be in...

How about we start by getting the government out of the car business? Sounds like a good place to start to me.

 

I kinda agree with you AK, kinda...if we let GM, for example, fail then what happens to the 100,000+ GM employee's? And what happens to the 200,000+ employee's of their suppliers? When these people loose their jobs then they go on unemployment which is paid for by the state that they live in, when you dont have a job you dont pay taxes, you dont pay your share of taxes then I have to pay your share AND my share.
GM ran themselves into the ground, when I look at it as just me, let them fail, when I look at it as a country as a whole, a country that is all for one and one for all...we cant let them fail.
And dont even get me started on the banking and mortage industry.

No it was not.

 

I think that the term marriage should be left out of it because that is a religious concept and has no place being regulated in such a way by the government. That being said, the government should change their partnership laws to include all the rights married heterosexual couples enjoy. I think the religious aspect taints the real debate which is equal rights for those who choose to live different, nonviolent lifestyles. I try to put it into a context I can relate to, and that would be me living in a world in which homosexuality is the norm and how that would affect me and my relationship with women.

 

Seperation of church and state, it's in the Constitution.

the federal gov. should be in charge of the overall running of the nation and its affairs with other countries. each state should run its own state with NO help from the fed. this would force states to be more responsible with tax dollars and would not be allowed fed aid for poor management of money.
