A racing Disco? Yeah right!

 

There is a 1970 Series III for sale in Holland, I drive past it everyday on my route...he wants $7500 for it with brand new tires.
It is from Costa Rica and was converted from a RHD to a LHD...wonder if he'd trade even up for my Disco?

 

Hey, Land Rovers compete, well, used to when it was being run, in the Paris-Dakar.
Al Tocci at DAP raced a Series Land Rover for a while.

 

They still compete in the Dakar rally, they just never get any press.
Mitsubishi, Nissan, VW get all the press.
I used to have a 2001 Montero so I still root for the Mitsubishi factory team.
Hiroshia Mashiwoka (I know I spelled it wrong) has been my favorite driver for some time now.
It is to bad that they can not run the rally into Africa any more, it def is not as good as it used to be.
But still when the race is on you cannot get me away from the tv.

 

Hard to race to Dakar though, when you can't go through Africa.

 

Yes it is.
I want to go visit Dakar sometime to see the culture and what not.
Maybe swim in the Atlantic and get eaten by a shark.
