Has anyone been to Labrador in recent years?

I am planning on a trip from Montreal to Newfoundland (the 3rd in as many years-all in the LR3) and then hopping across to Labrador. Was wondering what the gravel road up to Goose Bay was like. I know there are about 150k with no services, but apart from that I do no t have that much real intel.
