How many miles on your truck, when was the last major as per my major service list at the top of this section, especially the front drive shaft. Consider keeping a back up crank position sensor and a brake switch in your glove box.
Where in Colorado will you be staying, have any trails in mind?

How far is Boulder from where your starting?

Make sure your tires are good, as well as your spare. Of course, check all fluid levels before leaving. I always carry a pistol with me if I'm not crossing into a state where I can't. Sometimes I cheat if it's only for a little while.
