Ah, the true simplicity of what Rover engineering used to be.
yeah its cool, i wonder if that actually could be done, with the truck suspended by the winch line hangin up from a tree, thats gotta be a lot of weight on that tree limb.....

Yeah but trees are pretty strong and a Series with a 4 cyl doesnt weigh that much.

Dude, I didn't know people still did that! LOL That's a very high level of douche-baggery.

A '54 I think, which would just make it a Series 1, as the 107's weren't being produced yet.

I would like to have a 1955 S1, the year I was born. lol

I knew Tom would set the record straight.
I also want one of the same vintage as me...1972.

I LOVE the not having brakes, it wont idle on its own...even with all of its problems it will still climb a tree!!!

I have a particular fondness for that movie I think because for years I drove my '62 on the farm much in the same shape, though it would start and idle fine. But no brakes, no second gear and one winter no shift leaver for a while so I had to stick a screw driver down in to the floor board to shift and could only get reverse and 4th.
It was great fun, having to back up some hills. LOL

The Series III would be nice but I'd take the Rangie out of those options.

What's funny, I remember seeing a Range Rover at the local dealer around '77 or '78 and saying to my dad who was with me, "Wow, I can't imagine ever taking something that nice off-road." Now they seem so primitive.
But yeah, a nice mid-late 70's 2 door manual gearbox Range Rover would be pretty cool. Especially if it were a diesel.
