Spike.....LOOKS GOOD !! I suppose the stiffness of the flooring choice would depend on whether you will actually be standing on it much , or just carrying cargo ?

devildog01.....STOP spying on my grandma !

I dont know if I will ever really stand on it or not but I will make it so that I can if I want/need too.
Being as I am all of 5'5" tall once I get my ladder I can see myself loading and walking gear from the back to the front.
Carry it up the ladder, move it forward, secure it, repeat.

That expanded steel is pretty cheap, $50 for a 4x8 sheet, stainless would be nice but thats $550 for a 4x8 sheet.

Now I just need to fine someone to weld it on once I am ready and then I will have it painted, flat black of course.
Then the lights will be next as well as a canvas tarp to cover the cargo.

Keep your eyes open too for a DI rack.
I am willing to trade even up for a DI SD rack thats in good shape.
Mine has a few rust bubbles in the paint but it is straight and without any rust holes.

The expanded metal is really hard to keep from rusting, plus it's really easy to cut yourself on it if you don't spend a lot of time with a dremel sanding off the sharp bits.

I too thought that the farmtec would be too think, but after around 4 years of a lot of use, I don't find that to be the case at atll.
If you mean just visually, then yeah, not much you can do about that.

The rust issue is something I have been thinking about.
I am thinking of having the whole thing painted at a body shop and then clear coated.
The other option is expanded aluminum.
As for the sharp edges, no problem, there is a cover for the edges that can be bought.

I have not 100% decided on the expanded floor so I am still open to other options.
