I thought I would post a couple pictures of the trip we took on Saturday. In the future I will try to get more pictures, however, I typically don't think about it till we are done. http://www.nwjeepn.com/Maps/CleElumTrails.pdf
Location 1: Mine to Market - Did not make it to the end, we had been going up a VERY narrow switch backs and got to a section where we were seeing compact snow and ice. IF the truck were to get stuck and we tried to back down, the trail was not wide enough and we risked a real chance of going over the side and rolling down the mountain. I am sure some of the trees would have slowed our roll...
Location 2: Fortune Creek - Did not make it to the end, this trail was a lot less difficult than the previous trail, however, the snow and ice prevented us from getting to the end. There was discussion about getting chains next time around
I will say that the down hill assist in both going forwards and backwards was a game changer. Also, the manual mode in low range kept us a crawling pace with the down hill assist in some steep areas that provided some puckering.
Nice to see other folks out enjoying the Pac Northwest. And manual mode, and hill descent makes things a lot easier on some of those narrow ugly bits that seem so common in this part of the world.
