Default 24 volt to 12 volt conversion

Looking at a 1974 series 3. The current owner did a frame off restoration back in 2022. Converted it from 24 volt to 12 V. Any thoughts on reasoning behind this. Is it a good or a bad thing or really neither? Many thanks.

Probably a very good thing. You can get 12v parts anywhere. I don’t think Land Rover used lighter gauge wiring for the 24v system, but you could probably confirm this (as the 24v system operates on 1/2 the amperage, lighter wiring could be used).
