Default Series 1 restoration.

Hi guys, I'm new on here...

I'm over in Melbourne, Australia.

Got the opportunity to buy an old series 1 that needs restoring.

She looks a sorry sight in the photos that I'll add, though the chassis doesn't seem rotten, apart from right at the front. She has a lot of surface rust underneath but I've seen far worse.

Not sure on the year yet, but I've been told she's ex military given she has twin fuel tanks.

Tried to turn the engine over by hand but can't budge it.

Wondering if you guys thought she was worth saving.?

Might even ship her back home to The UK..

That’s a Series 3, not 1. I think it would be worth a restoration, but I suspect there would be other candidates in the UK if you’re moving there, so my guess would be it’s not worth shipping.

I think it is maybe a Series 2 or 2a with replacement wings & grill. The razor bonnet is pre Series 3.
commercially it probably isn’t worth restoring but if you are doing most of the work yourself and enjoy doing it fine.
I agree with the previous answer that it would be easier & cheaper to buy an equivalent in th UK rather than shipping it over
