Transfer Case
Has anyone had a solution to the transfer case oil starvation during high speeds? At prolonged high speeds, the transfer case does not pick up enough oil, and eventually leads to a transfer case rebuild around 70-80,000 miles. Is there a solution to increase oil flow at high speeds? I have a Roamer Overdrive, but worry this will increase wear with oil issue with my current setup.
I have a '71 IIA with a small block 350, New Process 435 transmission, all of the same vintage. This setup has been together since 2002. High speed is typically 65 miles per hour, around 3200 rpm. The Roamer Drive unit will drop my RPM to 2700 (approx.) at 65 MPH.
Normally bullet proof, I'd love to help my transfer case last a touch longer than 80K.
Thanks for the conversation!
