Well it is technically 60 lbs, but where each end is so small is takes like 120 lbs/in^2

I'm now concerned about its cantilever effect on center of side of hood lol they bow lightly convex already.. maybe Ill add a 1/8" aluminum bar a few inches to support it... hmmm just a thought...

Another mod. Hood superstructure!

I didn't post it because I didn't want to seem a weenie but I couldn't compress mine either. I thought it was stuck until I bolted it to the hood.

Be careful it's possible to bend the hood if the proper odds are too powerful. At the most I would do double 40s. Also too much force will wear at the screws and eventually rip them out.

HOT DIPPED DOG! literally across the street here is a saltwater fishing marine boat shop and I went inside just to look for stainless prop mounts! what I found is STAINLESS GAS PROPS AND MOUNTS! reasonably priced.. 35 ish$ for the gas prop and stainless mounts that were not quite as HUGE as the galvanized ones I found on amazon... same ball size just stainless!

So how do these gas props work? is it stiff all the way down? or just at beginning? Im just trying to decide with the 60lber Id reenforce the hood a touch... maybe not necessary but just thinking out loud on the forum lol since it is cheap ill install it since I have it but then may goto 2 all stainless setup 30 Albers

One other question... can we use a 17" ? the stainless ones I didn't see in 16" I think I saw 15.5 and 17 and 18 and 20... will check again...
