Remove that big nut on both sides, then remove the cowl on both sides, and then remove and replace the wiper motor. You'll see it when you pull the plastic cowling off.

Be careful not to break the cowling, it's old and brittle at this juncture.

You may want to look at replacing the whole wiper/linkage assembly. It will be easier and most likely cheaper.

You're right, I read right past that.

@dead_battery, keep the motor you have, you'll want to replace the wiper linkage assembly.

Thanks so much, I was hoping it would be possible to replace the broken part rather than the motor

Guys, i just called a 4x4 salvage yard and they said I need to replace everything including the motors? Surely this isn't correct?

I agree that you can't replace just the broken part. The part appears to be pressed into the linkage. Even if you could replace just the broken part, you need to pull the assembly anyway. It would be easier to replace the assembly.

Heres google search for photos: https://www.google.com/search?q=DKD1...=1920&bih=1031

Paul Grant has one listed on eBay for $40 shipped. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Land-Rover-D...tWLp~N&vxp=mtr
