2013 fj cruiser with manual gearbox. Base model. Every bit as capable as the Rover (and then some) but far more reliable... I choose the Disco every time tho
Daily driver - 07 Silverado Z71, 4x4, ext cab, 98k miles, bone stock other than CAI, exhaust cut out to be added.
Summer weekend toy - 01 Mustang GT convertible (yellow), 5 spd manual, 4.10 gears, frame reinforcements, 187k miles, soon to begin restoration.
Others pictures are my grandfathers 2014 V6 Convertible, 6 spd manual, premium, 2400 miles, and my uncles 65 (I believe) originally straight sox, now 302 w/manual, convertible, Gt options added. Miles unknown.
I did not think I would participate in this thread but I have to ask - why both the Land Rover and the Tacoma? They would appear to be both addressing the same needs.
Sorry I just saw this...
I bought the Tacoma after I sold my last 04 disco because of all the amazing things I had been told about them. I didn't want to sell the old disco but I was driving 150-200 miles every day and we all know the rover just can't do that, neither can my wallet. A friend of mine had my current disco and hit a deer, got totaled out and he decided he didn't have the time to rebuild it. At that point I'd been without my disco for about a year and couldn't stand not having one, so I bought his and rebuilt the hell out of it. It was only cosmetic damage so it really wasn't too bad...grille, bumper, headlights and that was pretty much it. Now I can't live without either vehicle so I'll just keep them both because my newest disco isn't going anywhere
I really like my 2005 Excursion 6.0, Eddie Bauer, 4wd. TV. Dark tint. Dual air. Captains chairs everywhere. Alarmingly stable, dependable vehicle with shockingly, frighteningly good climate control. Rust free. Problem free. 19mpg.
But when I drive it I feel like I'm cheating on my Disco II... in complete comfort and safety.

Not going to lie, I really like my Eddie Bower Expedition a lot. So I understand where you are coming from. I'd love a diesel Excursion
My company car, but my wife love to drives her more than I do. I am relegated to the Disco when I work from home and do not have business travel. But no complaints from me! Love the Disco
