Wipers blades don't go down all the way...

Related to this, when we had some heavy ice recently, I accidentally turned on the Wipers without realizing they were quite frozen to the windscreen, and it caused my Driver Side Wiper to become disconnected from the metal arm, and also it must have 'dislodged' or 'moved' the spindle-connection area, because when I reattached the wiper blade, it was not sitting in the right place. I probably did a silly thing to fix it - I just 'turned' it by hand, so that the wiper blade sat in the right place. Perhaps I damaged something, although the wipers are working perfectly ok, even on full speed in heavy rain. I suppose I should probably examine closer, (when it gets warmer) to see if I did any damage by just 'turning' (instead of raising / removing / lifting, and then re-attaching in a slightly different place).
