Default Interesting 18" wheel facts

I've noticed a weight difference between early 10 spoke wheels and late. Also, there is a wheel that I never saw on an LR3 except for on the cover of the Terrafirma catalog.

Turns out this wheel only made it to the US on U.K. Spec 2005 RRS via a special employee lease program. To tease the market Land Rover offered a lease program to employees on base model RRS. Since these were SE models they came with 18"s. Even the VIN tags have the date format U.K. Style.

The wheels are made in Hungary by Suoftec. Same weight rating, 940 KG.

Early 10 spoke- 31 pounds
Late 10 spoke- 25.2 pounds
UK edition Suoftec- 29.5 pounds

see photos in order:

Surely these must be able to be sourced, right? Any idea how many would have made it over here?

A guy at Land Rover told me less than 100 were brought over, but he did not know for sure.

Im getting a set painted bronze to go on my Black 3. I tried bronze on a green D2, didn't go over as well as I wanted, so I am at it again!

There is also another 10 spoke 18" wheel design I've only seen a few times:
LR048088

Don't know if it was intended for use on the LR3, but it works. I've only ever seen it on eBay a handful of times. Listed as 14.58kg or 32lbs.

Ah but Abran, you're already familiar with that style:

I like those too....of course at this point though, I'm going to stick with my 6-spoke HSE rims and my 10-spoke wagon wheel SE rims.

Yeah, I was drooling forever, but gave up. They were imported to the US on LR3s, but were rare.

I have officially moved on!

That right there... That's my ride. haha. And I have some bling for my summers.

Abran certainly gave up; he sold me the one wheel that he did have. We came to the conclusion that if I was looking for one and he was looking for four, we would no doubt never find them as separate parties. A sacrifice on his behalf, that seems to have paid off! The ten spokes in you picture look nicer than mine Abran!!
