Not an ordinary ignition chime issue...
Okay so, I just got done swapping in a rebuilt tranny and T-case, including doing some frame repair and putting headers in. Its a 95 v8 auto.
Started it all up (open headers
) and the ignition chime wont go off... Not talking about the "key in/door open" chime, i mean when you start it and you get the 3 ding dong chimes, the last chime just stays on continuously, like one solid tone.
Its a horrible sound.
I was wondering if it is some kind of warning or just another charming land rover flaw.
Center consul is not in yet, not sure if that could be related though.

It's the Neutral Alarm for the T-case. Providing you have the shifter interlock wiring connected, try moving the T-case lever from N to H or L and see if the alarm stops.

Sure enough, it wasn't fully engaged properly... couldn't tell since the driveshafts weren't in yet. popped it in and the alarm went off right away. Thanks a million times man, I thought I'd be spending weeks dealing with this ****.
