Default Radiator support (AWI700010) removal

Hello everyone,

I was recently involved in an accident, damaging the front of my 04 Discovery. I'm fixing it myself and so far the damaged parts have come off just fine but I can not figure out how the radiator support (part AWI700010) is affixed to the car. It looks like it welded/riveted on. I see the two bolts underneath where horn "speakers" are, that hold the Lower Tie Bar (ABC700020) on but that's it.

In the accident I also damaged the Lower Tie Bar's brackets (see photo) and I'm wondering what my options are for fixing those. I assume they need to be cut off and new ones fabricated/welded on?

Also, can I use the radiator support assembly from a 2002 or older car on my 04?

Bucket was just a redundant bonnet prop because I was trying to remove the radiator support

I wound up using brute force and a hand winch to straighten everything out except for those radiator mount things on the bottom. The holes still lines up. But those rods in front of the rad and the area that the hood latch goes into I just bent them back. Hooked a hand/ratchet winch thing up to the hood latch and the trailer hitch of another vehicle and cranked until my replacement hood lined up and closed. My fenders were bent up a bit too and don’t align with the new hood but I don’t really care. Got a metal bumper from lucky 8 for about $450. Headlights were the most difficult to find for a reasonable amount of money.

im really sorry to hear that. I hope you and your family are ok

That was my original plan until I found a part of the bracket rusted through, figured now would be the time to replace it. Looks like there are some spot welds that need to be drilled out. Just need to figure out which ones. Was able to pick up a used bracket for 250 in good condition.

The real kicker is I just bought the vehicle, had it for a week. 48k miles on it with less than average frame rust. Luckily the front bumper did its job and no one was hurt. Haha i picked up the same bumper! The wife wouldn't let me get the $888 dollar one unfortunately but i plan on painting the washer fluid res black hoping it looks ok. Also wanting to do the oil pressure/coolant temp mod and pending those results the inline thermo mod. Also got the lucky8 front driveshaft.
