The TB shaft itself is notched and the TB plate slides into it. From the factory the screws at the back were notched & then spread apart so the screws wouldn’t come loose. Once all three screws are removed rotate the TB linkage and the plate will slide/fall out.

I grabbed a spare off the shelf & took those pics for ya.

Cleaning the plates didn't do it unfortunately, still getting pending p0101 and p0441.

I found some random case on google where a loose fuel line caused the 101 code.. makes no sense... but it kind of did, because a few months back I dropped the full gas tank on my head and may have tweaked the lines. So I replaced the fuel pump, gasket, and gas cap today. Bosch pump, genuine gasket and gas cap.The gasket was buggered, so I'm optimistic that was the issue. We shall see

Spoke too soon, pending P0441 appeared again. Any other ideas for a fix? I put in a brand new genuine purge valve and hose a few months ago. Could that charcoal canister next to the muffler cause it? Do the secondary air vacuum lines affect the system?

Did you do the scotchbrite trick to the fuel filler neck? Sometimes the gas cap doesn’t seal all the way & using some scotchbrite fixes it. Purge Control wise make sure the line isn’t cracked back towards the bellhousing. I personally replace them with the Hyundai unit vs the Bosch unit.

It could also be the vent lines going down to the unit mounted on the frame rail down just behind the E-Brake Assembly. Might need to rig up a smoke machine to test back from the purge control valve.

Hyundai valve seems to have fixed the P0441.

Still fighting a pending P0101. According to the manual this is: "Load monitoring, the ratio of throttle position to air flow"

Likely causes listed as:
l Blocked air filter (load monitoring, ratio of the TP sensor to air flow).
l Restriction in air inlet (load monitoring, ratio of the TP sensor to air flow).

more info:
"Ratio of throttle position to mass of air flow – the calculated throttle angle must be outside limits when the engine
speed is between 800 rev/min and 4000 rev/min, the engine load is between 2 and 6.5 and the coolant temperature is above -10°C (14°F)."

I've tried:
- cleaning throttle body
- replaced Mahle with a Mann filter
- new Bosch MAF sensor

I kind of doubt its the TPS sensor, but I could try swapping that? Any other ideas? I have a snorkel, but I doubt thats restricting air flow. For $50 I could swap in a used throttle body

I’d try another TPS if you have a spare. I think you can get a new on from 20.00 to 30.00. I’ve only replaced one on a P38 and it was due to someone smacking the crap out of it, however it’s electronic & they’ll eventually fail one day. Yeah no way a snorkel is letting in less air. Back in the RRC/D1 days I replaced a good amount of them. D2/P38 was a much better unit.

I switched my paper filter in my D2 with a snorkel over to a Britpart blue filter which doesn’t require oil like a K&N just wash n dry it.

I have a spare TPS which isn’t on a TB. You can have it if you don’t have a spare handy.

Thanks Best! I actually have a spare no-name TPS from about a year ago post engine rebuild... which turned out to be a sticking throttle body so I swapped the Bosch back in.

I'll give it a go. Also, I've never seen the P0101 turn into an actual fault, but it comes back as pending pretty consistently after a code-clear.. within 5 miles.

Okay cool, just let me know!

I’ve had excellent results with the OEM Hyundai Purge Control valve (not to be confused with the aftermarket crap for a Hyundai from Auto Zone or Oreilly’s). I bought a few OEM Bosch units back in the day before I knew about the Hyundai unit and got maybe a year out of them. Hyundai units have lasted much longer then that!

Yeah if it’s tripping that quickly something isn’t reading properly. Kinda sounds like my wife’s LR3 and it’s LF height sensor faults. It rarely sets a hard fault, but if the LR3 hops up/down parked at idle I can tell the sensor isn’t reading properly. Just last weekend it actually made it display 30MPH or less, scanned it and only fault was LF height sensor, so I’m replacing all 4.

Gotta love some touchy sensors sometimes lol.
