Pic Request: D2 with 3" Suspension lift
I'm looking for some good pics of how a 3" suspension lift would look on a Disco 2. If you have any before and after photos that would be great to. I just want to see what I'm getting into in the near future, when I purchase my lift kit and right now I'm stuck between the more common 2" lift and the 3" lift. Thanks much.
I cannot find any before and after pics of mine with the 3" lift either... but here are some pics of it with the 3" lift and 33" tires, and pics of my 99 with old stock springs and bald stock tires. (the rear springs are actually the springs left over from my 03 after the lift, I used them to convert from air springs).
I have before and after pics in my album. They aren't the greatest pics in the world but decent. I had 18" wheels on originally then went with a TF 3" Prosport lift from L8 and a set of 16" LR wheels with 265/75r16 tires mounted. I have been very happy with it.
So, what have you decided on? If you have any questions, lets talk.
Mike I'm completely stumped on my near future decision.... I've had experience with the TF 2" suspension lift that was fitted to my former D1, loved it but I craved a little more lift. Now I see how the 3" lift looks, and it makes stock 18" wheels/tires look out of place on a D2 - not to mention the exposed wheel wells... furthermore it seems there are less options available for the 3" lift kits in contrast to 2" lift kits. Could not for the life of me find a Old Man Emu 3" lift either. Yes I could upgrade to beeeeffy off-road tires to address the "out of place" look mentioned above, however my disco with be 80% on road and the remainder off-road so I need to consider the most balanced tires for both occasions. Eventually I'll invest in a second pair of strictly off road wheels and tires, but for now my main objectives in regards to a loft kit are as follows:
1.) "Maximize towing capacity with campers, roof racks and lots of extra gear in mind....
2.) Add sufficient suspension lift for cosmetic appeal
3.) Still capable and relevant on normal roads and highways
Old man emu aside, what kits would YOU recommend Mike?

Sorry I'm not familiar with "RTE" could you tell me more about them?
Mike I PM'ed you my home phone number a few weeks ago and you never called. It should still be somewhere in your inbox if you feel like chatting over the weekend.
