I have another question regarding the off-roading. You commonly see Rovers with a wheel completely up in the air a few feet off the ground. I do not recall seeing any other vehicles that seem to do anything similar to that. Is it due to the boxed frame?
I think its mostly a balace thing with these trucks is why youll see one tire in the air. Im not sure the exact specs but say a D1 is 60/40 (60% front 40% rear) a regular pickup truck mite be 70/30 (its gonna keep the front planted on the ground). The radius arms really hinder articulation in stock form, heim jointed instead of factory bucshings would drastically improve travel. With that said if I have a tire in the air with my setup I'm probably on the side or on the roof.

I agree with Brian..... And it also has to do with flex in the rear too. most people run +2 shocks and maybe cranked arms. D2's are limited by watts, and if you're running sway bars at all then you're gonna have some wheels in the air. It take quite a bit of work to get the a d1 to flex enough to keep all 4 on the ground at all time. and it takes even more with d2.
With that said I dont have the flex ***** Brian has with the 3 link and 12" fox shocks all around. Soon to be coil over set up but I've done a good job of keeping all 4 on the ground.
Here's a couple pics some of the guys took of my truck at ROTR - decent suspension + Detroit/TT and engaing cdl on last hill = a debateable 2nd place

Don't start that d2s are limited by watts bull****. you can compare stock trucks but you can't compare modified rigs. If my d2 had a 4link it could out flex a stock freelander is point that is null.
I'll out flex you fool
