Default Questions about lifting and tires...

Alright I have a 99 Disco II. Currently I have 255/55 R18's on it. I want to put a 2.5" lift from toddcosuspensions.com on it to fit 33's. The thing is I also want to get rid of my 18's because to put 33's on 18's it would cost $1450 just for the tires (only 4). But I can get four 16" rims with 33's all for $1000.

I understand the bolt patter is 5x120mm, I was wondering if it would be possible to to use the 5x4.75 bolt pattern?

And finally; would I actually be able to use 33's with a 2.5" lift?

just a reminder...most 33's are not exactly 33"...some are larger and some are smaller. I believe goodyear MT's are smaller and I know interco tires (super swampers) are larger. They measure out to be 33.7".

Im not sure if your going to be able to fit 33's with just 2.5" of lift. You will definately have to trim your front bumper so they wont rub, thats if they fit. I'd go with 31's or 32's.

I have never heard of that lift.
Are you planning on the diffs, gears, axles and all the other stuff necessary to handle that size tire?

Negative I don't plan on changing anything at the moment. I just want to put the spacers in to fit bigger tires. Does anyone know what maximum tire size I could go up to with a 2.5" lift?

So are you putting on spacers for the lift?

yes sir. i'm actually contemplating putting some 265/70 18's on there instead of changing the rims they come out to be a little less than 33 to be cheaper.

If you put that set of spacers on top of your old warn out springs you will have the worst riding, top heavy Disco you could ever imagine.
Spacers can only be used along with H.D new coils and shocks.

i've ridden in a jeep that had a 3" spacer lift with 33's and the ride wasn't rough at all. why would this differ in a rover?
