People have mixed results with a 3" lift. Some have no issues, some have bad steering geometry problems and need other modifications. If you're just using it off-road you shouldn't have any issues, other than maybe brake flex line shortness. You can fit the lift and then check if they are ok using a jack.

yup. only other things you might want to do is get some extended brake lines and pop the abs sensors out of their holders so they have more play. also ditch the sway bar up front and you are good to go!

While 3" is possible with just shocks and springs I would suggest supporting mods. Radius arms are not a must but are very nice. Trailing arms will be huge for offroad performance. You will probably need a double cardin front drive shift and adjustable panhard bar. You don't have to do it all at once but they make the end result much better. My lift is probably closer to 4" with RTE 3" springs though. Brake lines are a must if you plan on articulating at all.
