Hey guys, this is my first post on this forum.

I just bought a 2004 Disco SE7, and it's been great so far (just needs a good tune-up but the walk through on plugs and wires looks pretty good). It has the stock 18 inch rims, and the sidestep in case that matters.

However, I'm looking at changing the tires to something a little more aggressive without lifting the truck or buying new wheels (yet). Does anyone have a recommendation for a capable, aggressive looking tire that doesn't require me leaving an arm or leg at store?

Not with 18" wheels, there is no such thing as a reasonable price.
My look at TreadWhright tires, a lot of us use them.

 

"Reasonably Priced" hands down Treadwright.

 

You won't be able to swing a Treadwright with 18's. The maximum size you can run on stock suspension is 265/60R18. They fit perfectly, no rubbing or anything. No trimming required. They look pretty good after a lift too. If you're looking for something that's pretty off-road capable and streetable, you have three options.

1. Cooper Discoverer AT3 - Good tread, good traction, should last a while. $151/tire

2. Toyo Open Country ATII - Wears like iron, more aggressive tread than the Coopers, but that hard wearing characteristic also makes them not as grippy on rocks (harder rubber compound) $164/tire

3. BF Goodrich Rugged Terrain T/A. This is my personal recommendation. They look great and provide awesome traction pretty much everywhere. They wear pretty well too. On the downside, they're more spendy, at $172/tire

wreckdriver especially, because we have almost the same rig. I can't wait till my truck looks like the BAMF you have there. Unfortunately my eyes are bigger than my wallet, and I've got to replace the back bumper (thanks to a city plow) before I can start to lift or go for the roof rack.

By the way, what sort of rack is that? Have you ever loaded canoes/kayaks up top?

 

Way late to the game, I know, but thought I'd share my 2 cents as well. I just bought some Falken Rocky Mountain ATS tires in the 265/60/18 and I think they look awesome. Came in at about $155 a tire.

No lift, no rubbing.

You can also try Tire Recappers Car, RV, Truck, and Commercial Retread Tires for Sale | Tire Recappers . It is a company just like Treadwright and they are located in Nashville, TN. Check their site and see if they have that particular size for you. I know in the 265/75/16 size you can get the BFG AT KO style for $116 apiece.
