Default Performance in slush

I had my defender in Switzerland this winter - performance in snow from 2 inches to a foot was great - however, with a slight covering of slush on the road it was terrible - far far worse than any run of the mill 2wd family saloon. It has General Grabber tyres with around 10mm of tread. Any recommendations?

Some tires are just crap in odd conditions that you think it should be fine. Any good brand All Terrain tire should handle slush just fine. I know for a fact that the original Michelin Cross Terrains and the Pirelli Scorpion AT's did great in slush.

I read about the General Grabber tires, mixed reviews on them......
