Default winter tires for 03 disco2

hi,
so I run Nitto TerraGrapplers all year round for the past 8 years and I'm happy with them, though I want something better for snow traction. I also want a narrower footprint like on the older disco's, so this would be a wheel/tire combo to swap when the seasons change. Trying to keep this on a budget, maybe $700 give or take but definitely under $1k
I was thinking something along the lines of BFG mud T/A's but they are probably more than I feel like spending.

any suggestions? I'd even go used set for something descent

thanks

I swapped out BFG all terrain TA's for mud terrain on my jeep a few years ago, the mud terrains were better offroad but the are quite a bit worse than the all terrain ta in snow

interesting, I guess the mud tires eject snow great but have less points of contact to grab snowy roads?

thanks
