The latest salvage / $2800 w/ broken front drive shaft that beat a hole in the tranny, damaged the transfer case, damaged the transfer case cable, bad MAF, lots of little misc stuff. Bottom line / just north of $5000 and 4 weekends total invested in a near perfect cosmetically and now mechanically 00 w/ 118K. It is the family favorite. My grand daughter really likes the "way back seat".

The 944 is no longer stock

3 liter crank, MSDS headers, Lindsey Racing billet fuel rail and rising rate regulator, MAF conversion w/ stand alone, 951 injectors and head gasket, 11 / 1 compression, bigger valves, new valve springs, new cam, flowed intake manifold, knife edge crank, baffeled oil pan, new vacuum hoses, watrer pump, all belts, hoses, whatever...125 RWHP to 167 RWHP may not seem like much but along with shedding a couple hundred pounds and going w/ a 924 LSD transaxle that has a higher gear ratio it is very quick and along w/ a near perfect 51 / 49 weight ratio it is a large go-kart.

I made a custom wiring harness for the lights to allow running H4 Hellas 100 / 55 in the stock headlights, 100 W driving lights in the upper bumper, 100 W driving lights in the lower grill. In addition I have a relay set up from inside that will defeat the running lights and brake lights and only leave the headlights on. It is virtually impossible to follow if for some reason you are speeding on a back road and need to move on.

This is the harness I made for the lighting. It connects directly to B and uses Bosch relays triggered by the old headlight wiring. This allow the much higher current for all the lights to not try to pass through the fuse box. Each set of lights is individually fused. I made a few of these for members on a Porsche forum that I frequent, they work great.

Headliner out for repair. While out I soundproofed the roof and inside all doors. I installed new Focal door speakers front and rear and reinforced the woofer cover in the rear door.

I went w/ charcoal on the headliner. I personally like the contrast. Total cost was around $400 to include a gallon of fiberglass, fiberglass matt, 3 yards of 64" Wide headliner material and the glue.

The cametra was installed a little differntly than the apckage described. Instead of screwing it to the license plate I took the third brake light apart and enlarged the hole in the back where the stock light snaps in. I then drilled a 1.25 hole in the red plastic to allow the camera to see out. I installed two new smaller snap in lights to allow the brake light to still function. I fished the wire down and out the factory grommet into the interior. I tapped into the reverse lights (black / ground solid green ) for camera power. When 12V is applied to the camera the front screen recognizes video and turns on. Up high is great as I can see over the boat to back up. Hopefully my wife will also see behind her.
