Disco I/Disco II Motor Swap

Description:
These are some photos from my dad's machine shop on a motor swap he did for me. I just got a 98 Disco I, bought it with a blown motor and he had a Disco II engine that he put in for me.

The engine was from an 02 Disco II that had like 30 thousand miles on it and it has been laying around for years, so we decided to freshen it up with new piston rings, lifters and bearings.

This is the first part of our project, We are also going to chop up the front end and replace it with an 04 front that he got from an auction for practically nothing. (something i don't think is possible and i don't want done anyway) It has a salvage title and the motor and tranny are missing from it. We sold everything off of it except for the head lights, bumpers and grill..

I will post those pictures when we start doing that. Disclaimer, I am not a mechanic, I am 18 and still learning. If anyone has any questions, i will answer them to the best of my ability, before asking the old man. Its 3am and im bored i hope you guys enjoy.

This is the Disco that he is going to chop off the front on. I don't think it is possible, but he wants to give it a shot. If the title wasn't salvaged it would have been worth it to fix this bad boy up, its a beautiful truck..

This was the only mechanical problem they ran into. The crank sensor in the disco II was seated too far to catch a signal, so they popped that plug off the Disco I that you see there and welded it on the Disco II motor.
