Tie rod and drag link boots destroyed. No lube. Locked up when recovering from a left hand turn. Some on the other side.

Sure feels like a boot, but everything I'm reading says its a seal. Whatever it is, its shot.

Image #2. Don't let the good picture fool you. This is inside a blind rabbit-hole just big enough to squeeze a cell phone into, not comfortable for a big human hand.

Image #3. Bottom side of the top plate of the passenger side motor mount after a few minutes on the bench grinder. Note the similar, but smaller, metal disc that holds in the anti-twist pin. A bigger version of that was backing the threaded bolt.

Image 3.1 Top side of the top plate from the passenger side after the base of the bolt was ground off from the underside on the bench grinder. Note the square base.

Image #4 Long nosed die grinder from HFT. 1/4" collet. They had very few offerings for bits or cutting wheels or stones or anything with a 1/4" spindle.

Image #5. It took about 8 hours to get to this point. Happy, but anxious about lining up the new motor mounts and putting it all back together, tomorrow.

'03 Disco 2 with 110k miles. New to me. That crushed rim had the consistency of dry, brittle clay. Fell apart in your hands.

Do I need to remove the threaded "collar" on the bottom?

Cannot get these lined up. The upper hole is the bracket that holds the coil. The bottom threaded hole is the engine block.

I'm trying to figure out if there is another set of bolt holes on the bottom of this coil mount bracket.
