Default CB antenna spare tire mounted question

For all you guys on here who have mounted your cb antenna to your spare tire carrier, how is your reception. I'm up in arms about where to mount mine. I want to mount my firestick to my roof rack but then when I look at it, it kind of looks silly and is pretty damn high. I'm looking for the best functionality.

I don't have a disco, but I did mount my antenna on my rear bumper "in the corner". I have excellent reception. I had the same problem, I did have my cb antenna mounted on my roof rack, but it looked stupid.

Let me toss my 2 cents in here.

In m Disco 1 I have 2 ham radios, VHF/UHF and HF that is CB capable.

You WILL ALWAYS have a better signal and ground plane with the antenna in the middle of the roof.

That being said - what area are you going to be in how much of a hit or loss are you willing to take to have a different mount?

I live in a very populated area, and even when playing in the woods I am rarely more than 50 miles from a major center.

I have many repeaters for the ham radio available - and the CB gives me about 25 miles simplex to other mobiles. I am happy not mounting the antenna to the roof but to the back bumpers.

Of course if I were really out in the boonies then I want the antenna at the max height available - but most of my communications are with the others in my group.

Prolly went too far, sorry guys!

NO no JC good stuff. I have a magnet mount KC40 antenna that I could also use. I may just end up going that route.
