Default Thule Spare Me 963XTR Tire Mounted Bike Rack on a Disco?

So I've bought and mounted a Thule Spare Me 963XTR bike rack on to my truck. Looks good to me and I think will do the trick. But, I noticed in the instructions it lists the Freelander as a supported model, but not the Discovery 2.
Anyone know why?
I'm guessing it's just about putting weight on the hinges.
Should I not be doing this?

I'm using the same rack on my 04. When I bought it last January I couldn't find anywhere online that said it fit the D2, but the bike shop let me try it and it worked. I looked at the instructions later and it had the D2 listed on them.

Anyways, I have used mine multiple times since then carrying mine and my buddy's mtn bikes all over. Haven't had a single issue with it.

And if anyone else is considering purchasing this I have to add. The only down side is I've noticed its a complete pain in the @$$ to use with a 29er, which just so happens to be what I ride. Due to the frame geometry you've gotta do some maneuvering, and I can only use 1 bottle cage. That's with a 19" 2013 trek wahoo 29er. It fits 26 and 27.5's perfect though.

Thanks Madlands.
The only thing I'm seeing so far is that my panniers block my taillights. I wonder if there's something about the light geometry that made them not list it for the discovery? Only thing other than the weight on the hinges that I can think of.

I have used that rack for many years, works great. But don't open the barn door with the bikes on the rack, those hinges don't like the extra wt.
