Consequenses of removing the front cross member bar
Howdy all.
Beware !
I removed the front cross member bar for better access for the removal of the oil pan, since I was going to work on the front cover.
I had removed the exhaust and intake manifolds, so there was no support.
Because of the weight of the cats, two things happened:
_ The Oxygen sensors cables disengaged from the connectors, see pictures below.
_ Muffler got disengaged from the front side of the system.
I need help in connecting things back together, I know I could buy new O2 sensors, which I'll soon ,but I cant now.
I sincerely appreciate and thank you all for your time and knowledge.

You can get non specific Bosch sensors . They have a crimp style splice connection. They are the same but cheaper than our part numbers Bosch sensors.
So you can splice but I'd have a look at those to see recommended splice.

Is the picture of the one below the one you are referring to...
I was hoping to be able to reconnect the two that I have...they were working fine .

Knowing the Designation and where the colors go is a great help.
Designation:
Signal_________________Black
Ground_________________Grey
Heater_________________White
Heater_________________White

Wow man that sucks, sorry about your misfortune. You know I hear alot of folks on hear say that you need to remove the cross-member in order to drop the engine oil sump pan but as Drowssap pointed out, al you really need to do is jack up the body in a safe manner and that alone with give you just enough room to wiggle the sump completely free and off the truck. I tried it and it worked. Must be alot easier than trying to loosen age old rusted bolts that hold the cross member in place, then to have to worry about all the other **** that might go wrong as happened to the OP.

Still working on the truck.
I read Discos going for years without any problems, you have to just stay in the pavement no " off road " and it would be fine.
I'm in Miami so I'm not worry about snow nor deep hills...lol just lots of water in the summer, but for that I don't need the cross members...
