Based on experience, it seems like everything URO makes doesn't last and is of inferior quality.

Rent for a 1 bedroom apartment in parts of Long Island is 1300. I have friends in the North Carolina that pay 1100 for a mortgage. It's all relative to the market area.

I don't know if this applies to d2's but what I started doing was cross referencing lr part numbers with BMW part numbers. the brake light switch for the lr part number at parts authority is around $40. That exact same switch for a BMW is $25. I have the BMW one installed at the moment and I have had no issues. Everything connects like it should and fitment is perfect. I'm also gonna start digging into the flex disc. It looks identical to the one BMW uses, and it's $35 compared to the lr one. I'll come back and update if I find anything

Overhead should not be an issue, since the part is being shipped.
I ended up getting it for the lower price. Just selected a NC store as my store, but shipped it to NY.

It's funny, I live in coastal NC and got quoted the $29 price too when I used my local store location. Had to change mine to Charlotte as well in order to get the $12 price. Ordered one just in case I ever need it, can't go wrong for that price and free shipping. Thanks to Acamato and mln01 for the heads up.

They all do. They just have slight differences in the size of the bolt holes and locations. I have one from a 97 M3 atm. I want to pull mine off and compare the two and see the differences, if any. I just need to find the time to do so
