Default Magnaflow Center Muffler

Picked up this little bad boy the other day and got it welded up this afternoon.

Since, this is not my primary driver I have been wanting to squeeze a little more sound out of the old gurl & open-up the exhaust at the same time. Overall, I am very pleased with the sound, no droning at any speed. I removed the rear resonator (replaced it w/ straight pipe) awhile ago. Also worth noting I'm running Davco 'high flow cats' which contributes to the 'throatier' sound.

I always wondered what the 4.0 would sound like after cleaning out it's air ways. I'll try and get some sound clips up soon. Stay tuned.

Can't wait to hear it. I've been wanting to compare the sound of a Magnaflow with high-flow cats to my Borla with high-flow cats.

I have the Magnaflow cats and cat back. It has a really nice sound to it, no all that loud, just a really cool noise. I'll attach a link to a really bad sound clip. lol

Have the EXACT same set up on my 04 Disco.

Sounds awesome. But with out that little muffler welded in line the drone was unbearable.

X2 with set up, mine though is the polished stainless version. Picked up locally for $50 and another $30 to install. I love the slightly more aggressive tone at idle and when I accelerate. Sounds like a V8 should now.

For comparison, this is with two Flowmasters in series. I wanted it quiet, deep, and with no drone. There is a kind of hollow sound that is because my cat chambers are hollow. They were molten and broken from misfires, and I need to get them replaced, probably with straight pipes.

Last weekend I took mine to the shop and had the resonator delete done and there is no difference in sound. The guy at the shop tells me that I need to go glass pack in the middle to get any decent sound. Here are his prices to do my mid pipe: flow master $280, magnaflow $240, glasspack $260. I like the first sound clip so looks like I will order that and find a new shop.

He told me my pipe is 2.25" is that correct and will this 2.5" fit my 04?
