Default Progress Report

Back in August bought a 2004 D2 with 35k miles on the clock. Posted question about major service and my plans that Disco Mike was kind enough to answer. So I went ahead and did the 30K mile service as well as the following:

Replaced ABS Modulator Valve, Drive Shaft Rubber Coupling, Throttle Plate Gasket, Thermostat, Rear Brake Pads and Rotors and added stainless steel brake lines. Replaced various small broken plastic items like license plate holder. Removed wheel flares and replaced with new ones (nightmare of intensive glue removal). Washed, clayed, polished and corrected paint. Restored plastic parts as best I could using various methods and products. Anyway after lots of weekend labor, here are some before and after shots. Runs great, this is my first Rover, had a Jeep that I off-roaded for many years, not sure if I will see much dirt in the Disco, time will tell.

Might want to consider prop shaft rebuild, not sure at what miles they "chirp", then break apart and spear a hole in tranny. Good write up with pix in the tech sticky area of the D1 section, covers D1 and D2.
