Default Windshield cowl filter idea

2004 Disco II-
Here's an idea for those of us with a crumbled or missing foam insert piece for your windshield cowl/air intake piece.

I had a broken windshield cowl piece and finally located one from B&R Salvage for $60. But when it arrived it was missing the foam air filter insert that runs the length of the cowl. I went down to Home Depot and got a $10 electrostatic air filter, the kind that fits on your air exchange in your house. It is about ½ " thick, green on one side black on the other. Cut some 1" strips and inserted them in the new cowl piece, and have lots left over for next time I need to replace it.

Avenger that is a perfect fix. I've got the same on mine but, unlike you, I didn't think it up myself. The great part is that you have enough to do it over and over!!

Cut strips, sell each strip on ebay for 10 bucks!

This is what I used for a friends Disco that was missing the filter. I bought it at Home Depot for $12 and cut it into strips.
