Windshield Finisher Pillar "A Pillar" Install Instructions
OK, I think this is the fastest and easiest way to replace the Windshield Finisher Pillar (A Pillar). Once I figured this out it took me less than 5 minutes to install.
Materials:
1 Roll Blue Tape
1 Permanent marker
Tools:
1 Ruber Mallet or the Palm of your hand
Step 1.
Take a strip of blue tape about 3 inches in length and center it on the windshield with the metal clip holder on the pillar. Then at the center of the clip mark a line on the blue tape.
Step 2. Next take 3 strips of blue tape and center each piece on the finisher where the retaining clips are located. Then draw a line in the tape where the center of the retaining clips.
Step 3. Slightly open the door then place the finisher on the pillar with the door jam side first. At this point line up the marks on your blue tape.
Step 4. This is the hardest part. Starting from the lower retaining clip lift and stretch the finisher where the groove in the retaining clip is over the metal tab on the A pillar. With the palm of your hand or a rubber mallet firmly tap the finisher over the retaining clip to set the clip on the pillar tab.
PLEASE NOTE: If you do not have the retaining clip centered over the tab you could damage or brake the finisher clips.
Repeat step 4 for the center and top retaining clips.
Step 5. Install plastic rivets inside A pillar.

On a side note, if you don't replace the plastic Rivet - Nylon Sill Finisher you will get a ton of wind noise from the holes left from the rivets.

I took it off a 2000 from a junk yard. Paid $8. You can purchase new ones on AB for just over $100.00
