Default rear pillar/finisher trim replacement-03 disco

how in the world do you replace the pillar/finisher trim piece that's located behind the read door? mine broke off in the car wash. it looks like you have to remove some interior trim and it was held on by 3 bolts. any help is appreciated.

If you still have the piece you can glue it back on...there is no reason you will ever need to take it off again... common problem...mine had come loose and i just hit it with some super glue...no mo' problems.

If you lost the piece try some of the used parts guys like Paul Grant (contact info in DiscoMike's signature).

thanks nychaze. all 3 plastic tabs broke off yesterday and i tried glue and double sided tape to hold it on. on the drive in to work today it flew off (didn't see, but it's gone). it looks like it was held on by 3 screws with the nuts being on the inside of the cab. i popped a little of the trim back and can feel the holes with tape covers. i ordered one from british atlantic for $80+ this morning. just hoping this is an easy install.

I think you will just need to remove the rear interior trim that wraps around the window...just remove the screws (they have trim caps over them...pop off with screw driver) and pry it off gently, i believe there are some push pins...had mine off when i pulled my headliner, no show stoppers getting the piece off and i would image there is a whole that lines up with the trim piece on the outside.

Good luck!

Advise: Leave your interior intact. Cut off the(3) mounting screws/nut that use to secure the finisher from the outside. Then use press on clips to secure the new finisher. Many times the hardware is rusted and just turns in the part rather than turning the nut off. At that point its next to impossible to remove the hardware without cutting a larger access hole. Land Rover engineers never think about the people who have to repair their garbage.

The exterior c-pillar finisher has broken off and needs replacing. Not wanting to have to remove interior c-pillar finisher, if I can remove (cut off) the 3 bolt heads showing from the outside, could I use some epoxy filler to attach the new bolts in the holes provided?
We're talking about an '03 Disco.

You are really going to hack up and then glue a brand new $80 piece that's worth about $20?! For the satisfaction of working around a single piece of interior trim work?
There is an instruction in the workshop manual for replacing the piece. All it takes is 2 screwdrivers, 1 socket/ratchet and a magnet. Don't glue it until the day comes where that is your only option. Glue is not typically a permanent solution and 3 fasteners that come stock should be utilized for all intensive purposes. It takes 15 min to get the trim pulled back and if you have a little magnet on the collapsible stick designed for mechanics, you install the nuts with that instead of trying to maneuver the nuts back there with 2-fingers.
