Default changing gas to deisel

I would like imformation on changing my freelander from gas to deisel.
What is involved and what engine fits the best? I have herd it is quite easy to do?

Ok, that ups the price alot. If you lived in Europe it would be easier and cheaper.
Here is what you would need, a Land Rover diesel engine, a diesel transmission (gas and diesels use a different trans), the diesel ECU, the new trans ECU, you need to add a intercooler for the turbo, diesel suspension (because the diesel weighs more), modify the exhaust and the fuel system.

You will need to source those parts from Europe and then have them installed.
You are looking at close to $10,000 in parts and labor to do it correctly, to half ass it, ~$7,000.

My freind was on a forum and was told an isuzu engine would bolt right up with an adapter . The motor mounts would even work. The isuzu engine could be bought local and good used ones are quite available.
