Default 3.5l turbo

hello,

i own a 1988 range rover classic with a 3.5l engine with a flapper type air flow. the engine has a ecu remap and was rebuilt 50,000 km ago. but i am building up a old 2 door with the motor but was wondering if i could turbo it (because i have a turbo that came of a old 3l v6 engine) for some more power, but i just want to know if any one has done and if it worked. because of the way the efi works it thought i could join the two exhaust togeather and make a mount for the turbo and put a peice of hose to the intake and buy a suction pump for the brakes and difflocks. and put the airflow on the intake of the turbo. and how much boost can i run

thanks
