It is the master switch to turn the cruise control system on and off.
Nice subwoofer control integration btw. Not seen that one before.

I have been a P38 owner for quite some time now, in fact the last Classic that I owned was a 1989 Vogue SE when I was back in England. I truly don't remember that subwoofer pot.. Perhaps mine didn't have one, or perhaps my memory is not what it once was

The picture is supposed to resemble a highway the verticle "stripes" and the cross pieces represent an overpass. Function as stated is your cruise control switch.
