And a loaner!? I'm definitely going to call them now.

Still can't figure out why the huge difference in costs from the two. Are they the same trim level? What do each of you have? I suspect one has a 4-cylinder vs. 6 or 8 or something else. Or at least I hope it was something logical and not arbitrary.

Mine is a 2022 P400 X-Dynamic and now that I’m looking at my bill I realized they charged me for topping off the fluids too.

Slight fluctuation per line item but the first line of $800 vs 346.50 is most odd... Considering both are 6 cylinders?

Looks like they did a fuel service on mine too, maybe that’s the extra hours charged.

I'm curious on what their "fuel service is"

Ummm ahem, off the cuff I would this is a classic greedy dealer sensing they can get away with inflating charges, and that's all this is. The flat round $800 indicates a nicely rounded up number and then all the extras/niceties thereafter at full retail or above retail pricing. I bet they did not even balance the tires as the little (if applicable) disclaimer is in there.

It's easy if you don't press them. I once paid $36 for a license plate bulb to be changed on my wife's RR because I did not ask what it would be. They flat rated the service at 15min at $120/hr (back then, it's obviously higher now) and charged $6 for a $2 bulb. A while later I asked about a specific mileage service and again they flat-rated the entire service "package" with the book rate for each individual service as though each service component was the only one being done. Basically it came to 3+ hrs of labor when my indy shop ending up doing it all in 1 hour and 15 min. I tried to have them break apart their flat rate service package but they would not budge, so I never went back. I saved almost a grand on that visit alone by going to the indy shop. Of course I was out of warranty at that time, so it's a lot less stressful to do that without fear of being denied coverage for not have an authorized dealer doing the work...

Really appreciate the details. Certainly helping me and likely huge help to the community. Taking off the Rotation/Balance which is an obvious differential, there are two things that appear different. There are two lines:
- 6579 Engine Service - $51.18
- KF65-N1TD Platinum Fuel Service - $126.50
And the resulting $453.50 labor differential to do those two.

The KF65-N1TD just seems like a fuel additive. Anyone know what the other is? I'm going to be a pass, just because my risk tolerance is higher than most. Heck, I'm borderline insane enough to do a full pass and continue to DIY my oil changes, but I like to think I might "tick the box" at the Dealership.

If I had to guess, this has always been a fairly standard JLR necessory on older models.

It's around $29/can so it seems right that they would charge $100 for labor to dump it in.
