Hmm, so here's a scenario.

Oil serviced at 20k miles.
21k services due in 1k
Is there a need at 21k to do oil again or just the filters (part of 21k maintence), to "comply" with Manufacturer service interval?

Hmm.. what is this 21k mile service you speak of? LOL. Is it a P400 thing? My 2021 P300 has 44k miles (new one set to be delivered end of July) and no "service light" has ever popped up. I've been having the oil changed and a 5 tire rotation done at my local JLR dealer every 5.5k miles or so, my car was in at 21,474 miles and they've charged me $265 for oil change and $120 to rotate the 5 tires, each time. At @34k miles, they did Fuel System Cleaning Service for an extra $285, but I've never seen a service light.

I have noticed that every time I've had the oil changed, the "next service due" mileage changes I just checked and it says "next service due in 13,300 miles.

Read your owner's manual (hard copy as well as online)

It lists clearly what's included in the first scheduled maintenance service which is at 21k miles for both the p400 as well as p300.

If I recall correctly

Oil/oil filter change
Brake fluid flush
Cabin filter change
Check/update any computer update if needed

Tire rotation and fuel system cleaning are not part of it.

Is brake fluid flush actually part of it? I tried like hell to find it for at least a minute and a half it and I couldn't. I drop off tomorrow and I know they won't tell me any truth.

Yes brake fluid flush is definitely part of it for the p300

Just show this to your service advisor

The chart above is for the p300. So double check with your SA if there is anything different for the P400 or the V8

when i bought the LRD my wife demanded steps. They quoted almost 5k saying the frame has to be notched to attach the side steps. We, the boss and I said no steps included, no deal. They threw in the steps. 😁. I installed aftermarket mud flaps myself, pretty easy w self threading pins

I'm not trying to spark any debates on oil changes as it's a topic that's been gone over a billion times, but I found this today and despite all the hype about synthetic oils and extended changes, the thought here is that the "old school" approach is still the best if you want to maximize the longevity of an engine. I guess it makes sense really, I think manufacturing has improved such that no matter what you do an engine will last a reasonably long timeframe, but if you want 300,000 plus miles, change it more often...
